Team Canada Spengler Cup Version

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Well the trade deadline is in the books witch means we are now on the final stretch of this year NHL season. Who's going to the playoffs? Who will not? We'll have to wait and see.
Today I got both an concept, and some rants about the some trades that caught my eye.

St. Louis and Callahan swap teams
St. Louis was traded to the big apple New York Rangers, while Mr. Callahan heads south to play for the Tampa Bay Lightning. What’s makes it intrusting is that they were Captain, the question is will they get the “C” with their new team? Probably not, but who knows we’ll have to wait and see.

Loungo as the Canuck no more!
After all the drama that happened in Vancouver for lord knows how long came to an end, or to some nucks fans a bitter end. I never knew the day that this would happened, from the failure to win the Stanley Cup, the early first round elimination 2 years in a row, the starting goalie saga, and the list goes on. But not anymore as he got traded to the team he made a name for himself years ago, the Florida Panthers. Last night he made an impact by making 25 saves, help the Panthers beat the Sabres 2-0, and earned a shutout, talk about moving on! With some little tweaks on the rosters, the Panthers can be a real playoff contenders for real. With this trade can this be the Vancouver Canucks ultimate down fall?

Enough rant, on to the concept

Team Canada concept Spengler Cup Version by me
My Team Canada concept number 3, but this one is for the Spengler Cup. Made the arms cut off for ads, the logo has the maple leaf with 12 hockey sticks, symbolizing the 12 Spengler Cup titles this team won.

Now to the concepts

Team Canada Concept (Olympics Version) [by me]
Just like my other Team Canada concept only different is the main logo. Simple stripes on the hem, the socks, and on the side of the pants. Simple stripes on the arms with a maple leaf cut off the end of the middle stripe. The logo of team Canada with the classic word mark from their alternate logo. The numbers, and nameplate are standard block.

Winnipeg Jets Alternate Concept [by Ricky M.]
Up points: Nice combination of pieces, well put together, even thou the jersey were made from Thrashers old Reebok set. Using the team's word mark logo as the main logo is O.K with me.
Down points: Fonts on both numbers and nameplates made doesn't fit this jersey to me. Red as the main color doesn't suit my taste at all.
My Suggestion: Change the fonts, and switch the red with blue.

Creighton Blue Jays NCAA Concept [by me]
This was an recolored version of my Boston Bruins concept. I felt that this template would fit the blue jays very well.

Stadium Series Anaheim vs LA concept [by Ricky M.]
 Anaheim
Up points: The jersey got hem stripe on this one then the official one that doesn't. Numbers on the back isn't stretched, witch it's a good thing. Using the shoulder patch from the team's alternate set was a wise choice.
Down points: Gold color under the arms is not my cup of tea. No stripes on the pants makes it too plain, and almost ruin the jersey.
My Suggestion: Change the gold to orange, and add stripes to the pants.

L.A.
Up points: Nicely done on the stripes, the team's old logo that was main crest from 1998 to 2002, and as shoulder patch from 2002 to 2011 is on this one is surprising, and an good choice to my taste.
Down points: Despite there is purple on the jersey, but I felt that this needs more on this jersey. Just like the Ducks pants no stripes.
My Suggestion: More purple on the stripes, and collar. Add stripes on the pants.

Stadium Series Rangers, Islanders, and Devils [by Ricky M.]
NY Rangers
Up points: Using the lady liberty logo was an awesome idea to do! Red as the team's main color really made the jersey pop in a good way.
Down points: The blue under the arms, blue helmet, and blue socks are the 3 things that is keeping the look from near perfection.
My Suggestion: Make the stripe under the arms, blue helmet, and blue socks red!

New Jersey
Up points: The jersey design is well tamed, the stripes on both arms, and hem is well put. The yoke is well modern with some classic feel to it.
Down points: Red stripe under the arms. Black on the logo, and pants throws the jersey way off!
My Suggestion: Switch the black on the logo, and the pants to green. Turn the arm stripes from red to green.

NY Islanders
Up points: Orange is the best choice as the main color follow by navy to put an nice touch. Yes there navy blue stripe under the arms, but with cuffs on the wrist make sense to me. The stripes is well made.
Down points: Aluminum silver ruins it of what could be a perfect Stadium series jersey. The sock stripes does not match the stripes on the jersey.
My Suggestion: Lose the aluminum silver, and give the sock stripes the same treatment as the stripes on the jersey.

And lastly I got link here, it's to my banners I made in honor of contests I won including my first HJC's COTW!

Well that's today big 200th post! I hope you'll enjoy it may not be a big post that you all expect, but should be good enough. There will be more post coming but slow, I'm pretty much busy with work to even posting for HCI. Until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Tuesday: Team Canada, and Team CCCP

Hi everyone welcome to Tuesday, with an concept made by me, and an concept by an contributor!

Team Canada concept (by me)
On this concept just simple stripes on the hem, the socks, and on the side of the pants. Simple stripes on the arms with a maple leaf cut off the end of the middle stripe. The logo of team Canada with the classic word mark from their alternate logo. The numbers, and nameplate are standard block.

Team Soviet Union concept (by Caden)
I like how this idea, the chest stripes, and the arms are different, putting the CCCP logo on one side of the jersey. The down point is the fonts on both the numbers and the nameplate, it should be ether change it to standard block, or adding trim around just the numbers to give it more life to this concept. Overall: O.K. concept with the right fonts on it. Score: 7.5/10

Well that's all for today, til then, later.

Top 5 Favorite Team Canada Jersey

Last week I posted my thoughts on Team Canada's new set for the 2014 Olympics games, and I'm not pleased with it. They'll never be on my list of favorite team Canada jerseys or just "jersey" period. So with today is Thanksgiving Day I decide to do my Top 5 favorite team Canada jersey, and believe me these are pictures snapped by me yours truly.

5. 1974 Team Canada white jersey
Very nostalgia this one is, the right stripes, and the right amount of maple leafs on the jerseys, and the " Canada" script was the nice touch, it's really a clean and classic jersey.

4. 2009 Team Canada alternate jersey

Old school style 3rds are never an easy task, it's one of them things you need to get it right, and this one is right on the spot! Darker shade of red is an eye popper, the design on the leaf both the front, and on the arms is cool, and the team Canada hockey logo on the shoulder is nice. Overall this is well worth the price tag!

3. 2010 Team Canada Red jersey

This one is special to me because I bought it before the Olympics even started, in fact I wore this at my home watching the Gold medal game against Team U.S.A. Ah the memories, anyway the jersey is nicely well made, simple stripes on both arms and hem, both team Canada hockey logo on one arm, and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics logo on the other arm. Lastly the front logo is very well design. Overall a nice jersey.

2. 2002 Team Canada Black jersey
This one may not been played in the 2002 Olympics, but it was played in other international tournaments including the 2004 World Cup (or so I heard) it was one month after the 2002 Olympics I bought this bad boy, it's one of the best black jersey ever.

And the Number 1 of the Top 5 Favorite Team Canada Jersey is.....
1. 1972 Team Canada jersey
This is the best jersey I ever own, this was a Christmas gift from my parents. For a jersey made by "Roger Edwards" this is as close to the real deal jerseys worn by the 72 Team Canada that played the Summit Series. All stitched to perfection from front and back, this is nostalgia written all over it.

Well that's my top 5. Hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving Day up here in Canada, or if you'll are from the U.S.A. "Happy Columbus Day", as for the rest Happy whatever holiday you guys got. Until then later.

Team Canada's new jersey set

Well here it is the so called 2014 Sochi Olympics jersey set. I have some mixed thoughts on this one, unlike others Olympics team's set it was one sided, this one is hard to say, there are some good, but mostly bad. If you check out Sportslogo.net blog on details of these it may surprise you, and disappoint you. Here's my run down on both good and bad.

The Good: Different main logo is good to me, nice idea of the word mark on the 3rd, good tribute to the 72 team Canada, and using the Canadian flag patch on the sleeve is a good touch.

The Bad: One stripe on the arm is not so wise idea Nike. What's up with the Socks Nike? Screen printed maple leafs on the shoulder, are you kidding me Nike? Black pants, black gloves, and black helmet to go with the red and white only jerseys Nike. And lastly Fake lace, "Really Nike?"
Well that's my rant for this post there will be more concepts coming, my creativity mind is coming back, and for the first time since May there will be a Top 5 post coming, what it is? You'll have to wait and see, till then later.
