New York Islanders 3rd jersey concept

Hello everyone, Alan, here for another alternate jersey concept post here at AJH HJA.
Orange jersey with navy blue wavey arm stripes with white trims. The hem is regular, and with the stripes, go along with the curve hem is good with me. The "NY" logo that the team is currently using on their alternate jersey is recoloured to navy blue. There also an orange version of the "NY" logo on both the navy blue helmet and the navy blue pants. Lastly, The team primely logo is recoloured and sitting on the shoulders.
And so this post is in the books see you all next time until then, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

NHL Adidas Nightmare Concept: New York Islanders

Hello everyone, Alan here for another Saturday post here at AJH HJA! It’s October with all events that are happening around this month but one event that always my favourite “Halloween!” That’s right costumes, candies, horror movies, and many more. Speaking of horror remember the Pens fan request I did the 07-08 set well since I made that it got me wanting to do more and so here we are. All month of October will be nothing but nightmare concepts of the thought of “what if the Reebok edge 07-08 design got carried over to the Adidas.” Well then let’s get to it!
On this one was a nightmare to me because a year after the Islanders drop this design in favour of a classic set my hometown team the Maroons use (and still using) this design. The only change I did to this set is the primary logo, and that’s pretty much it nothing much to explain.

Well, that’s the week post on to the next one till then, later.

NHL Adidas concept: New York Islanders

Both jerseys are in classic form like their current set, but both arms and hem stripes are given wave style stripes. Standard block for the nameplate, and the Islanders previous black alternate font for the numbers with trim. The “NY” logo for the helmet, and the shoulder patch is made by me it’s a pentagon shape to represent the team’s Stanley Cup appearance, follow by 4 wavy lines inside the pentagon represent you guess it, the 4 Stanley Cups that the team won.

Whooping around the Island wildly with sharks

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Well 2014 is here, and I got nothing to say. But I do got some concepts in line for today. I got lazy last week after an rough week including this also, my apologize if anyone was expected an post last week. we got 1 from me, and 3 from an contributor. Let's get going.

Macon Whoopee Concept [by me]
"Whoopee!" My 2nd Macon Whoopee concept from 2013, unlike my first Whoopee set this one is an little bit toned down to an classic form. The jersey is base on the Vancouver Canucks very first set, but instead of the "V" it's "M" and "W" on the arm stripes, hem stripes, and even on the logo. As specking of logo, the logo was base on the team's first logo back in the CeHL days only some few tweaks on it, including shoulder patch for good measure. The colors is well picked to fit this team with blue, green, and white.

New York Islanders 3rd concept [by Ricky M.]
Despite this is an overrated template, but there's a little rule "Make an concept that is better then the Islanders ugly old set!" Ricky did just as that with this one, witch is was part of the HJC's "Make the fishstick logo look good contest." Using the Preds collar is O.K. if he add white trim to it, it'll look sick with the piping connected. Adding the yoke with two stripes at the end of it was an nice touch. The choice of nameplate and numbers is questionable, but pulled off nicely. The colors on the logo is O.K, I questioned the gold, but to me it's a lot better then using 4 stripes that the Islanders seems to never want to let it go. Overall: This may not be a good enough jersey to the Islanders taste, but it could be a good Stadium Series to my opinion.

San Jose Sharks 3rd concepts [by Ricky M.]
Up points: The jersey design is good, like the side stripes, less is smart. The arm stripes is simple, but good.
Down points: The main logo is good from far away, until looking at it up close and there are some pixels all over the logo. The number fonts is O.K, but the colors seem to be off to me, if it weren't for the trims, it would blend with the jersey. I'm O.K with orange, but I feel that this doesn't fit the Sharks well to my opinion. Lastly the nameplate is small.
My suggestion: Switch the orange with black, and the black with orange. Remove the front numbers, I feel that it didn't really needed at all. Lastly make the nameplate bigger.

Minnesota Wild 3rd concept [by Ricky M.]
Up points: Jersey design is very nice looking, the stripes, the piping, and cuffs are put together perfectly. Nice choice of collar. Finally the fonts of numbers, and nameplate is a wise choice.
Down points: The colors are a bad choice to put, yellow as the main color, follow by red, green, and wheat. The nameplates are small. Lastly the main logo is fine, but it looks plain to me with the jersey design so modern.
My suggestion: Make green as the main color, follow by red, yellow, and gold. Make the nameplate bigger. Finally add trim around the main logo.

Well that's my post for today, there will no posts for the rest of this month, why? Because I'm planning on putting a lot stuff together in one for my "200th" post here on AJH HJA. Until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Top 11 NHL Outdoor games jersey

Hi everyone Happy New Year everyone as we are hours away from the Wings-Leafs Winter Classic game. One of six outdoor games this year so I decide to do a first ever "Top 11 NHL Outdoor games jerseys." Let's not waste time and get going.

11. Anaheim Ducks
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
The idea of Anaheim Ducks in orange jersey was always in many fans mind, and every concept artist desire, and dream come to life. But this one is "NIGHTMARE!" Chromed logo, one thin hem stripe with thick side panel, half stripes on the arms, and tilted TV numbers. The only thing good from this disaster jersey is the "OC" shoulder patch, and that's all.

10. New York Islanders
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Despite of just the "NY" chromed logo, the nameplate, stretched numbers in the back, tilted numbers, white yoke, and just one hem stripe. This one got an good collar, and the arm stripe is pretty much tamed, not the best, but better then the Ducks.

9. New York Rangers
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
This one was an disappointment for me, stretched numbers in the back, tilted numbers, one hem stripe, and thick side panel. The arm stripe is messed up in an bad way. The collar, yoke, and the "New York" word mark logo makes up for an not so good jersey that got that "Lady Liberty" feel to it.

8. Pittsburgh Penguins
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
This one maybe like the others, but it's better then the team's current set. I like the stripes on both arms, and hem. An small vegas gold on the back of the yoke could have gone all the way to the front of the yoke. Finally using the Oilers collar is an good call! Overall: It just an SS jersey, but fix it more and it could be the next set for the team.

7. Chicago Blackhawks
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
This had everything going, but fell short, stretched numbers in the back, chromed logo, and tilted numbers. But at lease they have hem stripes on it. Overall: If it weren't for stretched numbers in the back, chromed logo, and tilted numbers. This one would be the team's future 3rd.

6. Vancouver Canucks
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Last year this was worn by the Canucks, on March 2 the team will wear it again. The jersey is alright but I felt like they should wear their first jersey from the beginning, and cream pants "Not a big fan!" Nothing too much to say about it, moving on.

5. Los Angeles Kings
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Out of all Stadium Series jerseys, this team is one of my favorite! The chromed logo really fit this jersey nicely. Grey as the team's main color on this jersey is really an eye catcher. I got nothing to say about this, despite of the tilted TV numbers, this one is an solid SS jersey.

4. Detroit Red Wings
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Classic, and nostalgia. The stripes are wisely place, straight nameplate is fine with me, numbers are classy, and the logo pure classic. The downer is the word mark above the logo make it busy, and vintage white, really? Overall: Good WC jersey but two things kept it away from the top 3.

3. New Jersey Devils
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Even though the logo is chromed, but glad that this team did not followed the other teams that give jersey collectors an eye sore. Base on the team's first ever set. Overall: Very classic jersey, favorable, and why haven't the team promote it to full time 3rd?

2. Toronto Maple Leafs
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
Stripes, stripes, stripes everywhere on this jersey! Despite I hate this team, but you got to give them credit they know how to present classic jerseys nicely. Overall: Nice WC jersey from an team I hate.

And the Number 1 of the top 11 NHL Outdoor games jersey is.....

1. Ottawa Senators
Picture Credit: The (unofficial) NHL Uniform Database
I'm going off the record and say that I hate vintage white, such a overrated colored, but this one was used very well done to my taste. An vintage white version of the team's current 3rd jersey. Nice stripes that is well balanced that is simple but great. Overall: Vintage white or true white make it full time road along with the current 3rd as home to replaced the team's current set.

And that's my top 11 NHL Outdoor games jerseys hope you'll enjoy the Winter Classic, and other outdoor games, until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Fishstick, Sabers all in one island!

Hi Everyone once again it's another post, that is scheduled witch it's a good thing because I'm working 10 hours this week at my workplace before Christmas, thou it last for two days last week because of running out of stuff to put together to worth an wild week, now I'm working 8 hours in mornings. Enough about my life story we got an alternate jersey made by me, and an concept set from an contributor named Ricky M. You might remember him writing for HJC, now writing for HCI on fridays, also he has his own website called Buffalo Nickel Graphics check it out. So let's get going.

New York Islanders Alternate concept [by me]
This was part of an HJC contest called "Make the Fishstick logo look good Competition." I use the wave stripes that was base on my Erie Otters concept, made it 4 stripes for "you know what the 4 stripes means by now," the logo was tricky to do, but pulled off nicely. The colors are blue, orange, navy blue, and white. What do you think?

Buffalo Sabres Concept [by Rick M.]
This one of thing I believe if the Sabres decide to change their look completely, this is it! The design on the home, and road is well made, the arm stripe is solid with a small and short trim made it look good, with the additional of 4 stripes on the hem is an good move. The alternate is different but creative. The front logos on all are indeed a good choice, and the fonts for the numbers, and nameplate is clever. The down point is on the home change the silver to white, it feels like it doesn't need to be that color, on the road not an fan of the white pants, and lastly get rid of the small front numbers off of the home, and the 3rd. Overall: Nice set could have the potential to be the best Sabres concept, just do those little things and this one is an winner. Score: 8.5/10

Well that's today post, as we are getting closer to Christmas, have you'll got your shopping done? I hopping my should be done too. Come back here next week for some more concepts by me and an contributor. Til then later.
