A stinging effect

Hello everybody Alan here for last part of the Icethetics month here at AJH HJA. This jersey was part of a contest Icethetics ran for the ECHL South Carolina Stingrays that they celebrating 25 anniversary season this year and looking for both an anniversary logo, and an anniversary jersey. I didn’t enter the logo contest, but I did enter the jersey contest and pretty much the same fate as my other two IceHL set it didn’t became a winner. However I felt enjoyable in entering these kind of contests so here it is my South Carolina Stingrays 25th Anniversary Jersey.

Using simple Blue Jackets current jersey form with curved half arm stripes. Standard block with odd corners along with Anaheim Ducks current letters for the nameplate. Navy blue is the main color followed by silver, red and white. Lastly I added three solid silver Stingrays logos to symbolizing their 3 Kelly Cup titles they won.

Well that’s Icethetics month hope you enjoy it, there’ll be more posts coming this November until then Happy Halloween everyone.

Playing 21, I got 23

Hi everyone Alan here for part 2 of my Icethetics month here at AJH HJA. Let’s not waste time and get to it with another IceHL team I made for the contest from this year summer.
Today is the Atlantic City Aces.

Using 2 stripes with spades patters on the arms, and a single on the hem, pants, and socks. I even put a spade on the collar. The logo may have Vegas gold but I left it out on the jersey because I feel that it didn’t need gold on the jerseys just blue and red that’s all. I use the Winnipeg Jets current letters for the nameplate, and use the Pittsburgh Penguins classic rounded font for the numbers.

Well part 2 is done, see you all next week for part 3. Until then, later.

Going green with a hint of pink

Hi everyone, Alan here for today’s edition of AJH HJA. This month is the Icethetics month, meaning I got three posts base on contests that I entered from Icethetics to the IceHL, to even an ECHL contest. In this is one of my IceHL set that I entered in the jerseys contest and just my other entrees it didn’t became a winner.

So here is the Florida Flamingos.
Pretty much the same design as my Montreal Wanderers concept but with different collar design. I made green as the main color follow by pink, and gold. The curves on the jerseys makes the logo look complete in my mind. Using the Columbus Blue Jackets fonts for nameplate, and the San Jose Sharks old pre-edge fonts for the numbers.

Well that’s my first of three posts I’m doing this month till then, see ya next week.

IceHL weekend: Unfinished set by me

Hi everyone, Alan here for my last IceHL post here at AJH HJA. Today is a team I had worked on trying to put together before the deadline, but I ran out of time. Today is the Seoul Express.

Simple yet it fits the team. Blue is the main color followed by red. Using Carolina Hurricanes fonts for the nameplate, and the Washington Capitols fonts for the numbers. Nothing much to talk about this set just unfinished, I didn't put a shoulder patch on it and didn't put the "IceHL" tag on it ether because like I said I ran out of time.

Well that's it, next weekend will be west coast theme featuring my work plus a concept contributor! Until then, later.

IceHL weekend: Auckland Rockhoppers

Hi everyone, Alan here for another weekend post here at AJH HJA. Continuing my IceHL weekend post we got the Auckland Rockhoppers.

Another of my "Reeboking" design but I replaced the hem stripes with curved side stripes base on the NY Islanders old black 3rd jersey. I made black as the main color followed by gold, and light blue. Letters are the Anaheim Ducks font, while using the Calgary Flames fonts for the numbers.

Well that's Saturday, see you all Sunday for my last IceHL post that featured the last team I didn't got it finished and miss the deadline. Until then, later.

IceHL weekend: Munich Machine

Hi everyone Alan here for a Sunday post here at AJH HJA. To keep this IceHL event going we got the Munich Machine.

This set is simple from stripes to fonts, but only thing different on this one is it got gear patch on the sleeves.

That's it for today post, sorry this one is short, nothing to explain about this one too much. There will more IceHL posts next weekend. Until then later.

IceHL weekend: Helsinki Lynx

Hi everyone Alan here for the third week in a row of posting stuff here at AJH HJA. This weekend and the next weekend will be nothing but my IceHL designs that I entered them in, and just like last year none of them were winners. Today is the "Helsinki Lynx."

The arm stripe came from the Flyers first Reebok set mix with Collar-to-Cuff Yoke Cut style, with a simple hem stripe and the socks with the same stripe treatment as the hem. I use the Carolina Hurricanes current fonts, and use Florida State Seminoles numbers fonts to fit the team's theme.

Well that's it for today, come back tomorrow for some more of my IceHL work, til then later.

Land hooo!

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Today we got my "Last" IceHL team that I made from last summer for the contest they had over there, yes I know this is January and I'm doing a IecHL post that should been posted in September but better late then never! It's the "Quebec Armada."

Quebec Armada [by me]
I used simple Philly's form on the arms with trims to go with it, and I put the wave stripes on the hem. That's pretty much it, this one went all the way to the final four only to lose out to a better set then my and that person is Jake and would you know he set his set to me!

Quebec Armada [by Jake88]
Up points: The stripes are nicely placed on both jerseys. He used two logos each in stand of one, but fits the well with the jerseys.
Down point: The dark jersey doesn't have arm stripes, only the logo.
My suggestion: Give the dark jersey arm stripes, the same treatment as you did with the hem, but keep the logo there.

Well that's today post. Hopefully I can get back on track on things and post some more stuff here, for now I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Have a happy Super Bowl weekend!

A Post with horns!

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Today this post got some horns, a concept to be exact! As part of the IceHL's world contest, it's the Crete Minotaurs!

Base on my Haileybury Comets main concept, using the Buffalo Sabres template, but I changed the shoulder phantom yoke from normal to the Dallas Stars yoke. I use the Ottawa Sens old numbers font, and the Buffalo Sabres goat head era fonts for the letters.

Well this post is done for now, we are 3 weeks away from Christmas and I hope to get some Christmas shopping done soon! Until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Trying not to be a "ROYAL" pain in the "STARS!"

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. I'm trying my darn best to get back in the groove here so today we got two, one made by me, and one by Ricky! lets get to it shell we!

Dallas Stars concept [by Ricky]
Up points: The design on these jerseys are awesome! Colors are put together nicely, and the choice of collar was pull off pretty good.
Down point: The number font is good, and adding the drop shadow is O.K. But without trims around the numbers this look too plain, and doesn't fit well with the concept at all.

Royal London concept [by me]
This one is the Ottawa Sens old pre-edge template, but tweak the arm stripes to match with the chest stripe. I choose the Sacramento Kings number font because I felt like it fit the concept easily to my taste.

Well this post is done, more will come as soon as I can until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

I'm Back everyone

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Sorry that I haven't post any thing for the last two weeks, let just say things from outside of the concept world have been crazy for me. I'll leave it at that.

Now today is my Geneva Mountaineers from the IceHL jersey design contest from summer, this one I made two set for this team, let's get to it.

This is my 1st version, if the stripes is indeed came from the Colorado Avalanche old set, but in a piping form, the armpit area was tricky but I felt like I got it right. The nameplate is standard block with trims around it, and the numbers are the Jacksonville Jaguars current font.

Version 2 is some what traditional, mountain style stripes on the arms, the hem, even on the yokes. Nameplate is standards block with trims, and this time the numbers are the Michigan State U's current font.

Well that's today post. Again sorry for those two concepts explained short and sweet, but try to take a chance at it, more will come as soon as I can until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

To the MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Now before we get to today's IceHL post I got some updates to tell you all. First with my team Japan concepts posted, my IIHF series is up for ever to see it's on my DeviantArt page. Second, I updated my "Concept of the Dead" page, it's now got a deadline, you got until October 18 to send your defunct hockey concepts if you want to be part of this event.
Now with that out of the way, on to the IceHL jerseys.

Moscow Cosmonauts IceHL [by me]

Truthfully I took my Hamilton Steelcats IceHL set change the collar, and the stitching. Using the helmet logo as the main logo for the front fits the set to my tatse. Red is the main color on these set follow by black, and gold.

Moscow Cosmonauts IceHL [Jake88]
Up points: The designs on both these set are designed nicely! Good choice of fonts on both nameplates, and numbers. Lastly way to put the Russian flag smartly.
Down point: the stripe from shoulder down to the front is good, but the back doesn't have that not even at least on the back of the shoulder yoke.
My suggestion: Read the down point for my suggestion.

Well another week is in the books for now. I'll try to post one more before I start some post for the "Concept of the Dead" month. Until then I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

From Japan with love!

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Today we got not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 concept here today! 3 by me and one from a contributor. 2 Japan IIHF concepts, and 2 Osaka Samurai IceHL concepts. Let's get to the concept shall we.

Team Japan World Champions Concept [by me]

All the stripes are simple, nameplate and the numbers are simple. I gave the yoke the Dallas Stars treatment witch I say it gave this concept some nice flavor to it. I made red as the main color follow by black. The logo is the dot with black trim around it, two hockey sticks and Japanese characters for "Japan" to give this concept a good taste to everyone even this concept was in the running for HJC's COTW back in June.

Team Japan Olympics concept [by me]

On this one is again simple with some goodies I put on this concept. I paced both Japanese characters, and word mark "Japan" on the arm stripes, made the logo base on the rising sun of Japan, and as always replacing the stupid fake lace with the country's flag.

HJC Feedback

Osaka Samurai IceHL concept [by me]

Using the same template as my Blenheim Blades concept but with some tweaks and add extra stripes to it. Using the Winnipeg Jets letters, and my Kroftsmann fonts for the numbers give this concept of my complete.

Osaka Samurai IceHL concept [by jake88]
Up points: These really got "cultural" written all over it! Dark jersey gave that "Ninja" feel to it, while the white is "Pride" and looks proud to show it! The fonts for both the numbers and nameplates was a nice touch to this concept.
Down points: Even thou the white jersey got pride on it, but for some odd reason this also got that Carolina Hurricanes vibe on it too, but that's to me.
My suggestion: I got nothing to suggest.

Well hope you enjoy this big post today, because it'll be it for this week because of this week on HJC latest contest that caught my eye and I'm working on it for the rest of this week, but don't worry there will be more posts next week. Lastly don't forget to send in your defunct hockey concepts if you want to be part of October's "Concept of the Dead" event, click the banner for the info on how to send it, not a contest, no rules, just showcasing defunct hockey teams on this site. Until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

IceHL World: Stockholm Hammers

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Well summer is over, kids are back to their schools, and over at my job is busy. What better way to post today with a concept made by me!

Today one my concept that was part of IceHL World contest the Stockholm Hammers.

This one I admitted was rushed, I had 5 hours left til the due date. Simple stripes, and Dallas Stars yoke with trim. SF Piezolectric is the font for the numbers, and the letters are the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Well that's today post, it may been quick but worth it because it's the only Stockholm Hammers you're going to see here, why? Because my next 3 IceHL concept posts will also featuring a contributor IecHL concepts so hope you all enjoy it. Don't forget send in your defunct team concepts if you want to be part of October's "Concept of the Dead!"  For now I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Labour Day Rant

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Hope you all enjoy my last Summer of Concept Contributor. You may see here I change around this site from green, black, and gold to orange, and green. I decide to bright it up nothing more. No concepts today just rants, let's get going.

Concept Contributor posts still going strong and a new Contributor event.
The Summer of Concept Contributor maybe over but there still be more Concept Contributor posts in the future, in fact I announce that this October will be called "Concept of the Dead" all October will feature nothing but defunct teams, teams that are no longer active any more like teams from NHA for an example. If you have any defunct concepts you made to be part of this event send it to "ajhftw@gmail.com. So far total concepts for the "Concept of the Dead" is at 17, that's included me. If received at least 31 total it could be all 31 days of posts all October. Again you want to your defunct team concepts to be featured on my "Concept of the Dead" send them.

St. Louis Blues new set!
It's about damn time that the Blues change their set to a look base on their old set from 1998-2007. The set is nice looking, the stripes, the hem, and the yoke is put together brilliantly. The down point is the socks, I kinda wist they would give it the same treatment as the stripes, the hem. Overall great set for the blues.

HJC Open, and IceHL updates.
Well first one off the bat, I entered the HJC Open, and got the first round out, nuff said. as for the IceHL contests I entered 8 out of 9 them the last 4 wasn't easy for me beating the deadline while at the same time being busy with work that I had to put some other projects on the sideline temporally and so far 2 got in the final four round, I'm waiting what my latest 4 sets end up. My IceHL concepts will be posted this month including some contributors too so keep your eyes over here for them.

AJH HJA on Facebook!
In case you all didn't follow my twitter page yet I had a hard time putting it together that sucker, but in the end it's here so like it and see some updates.

Well that's today post! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your long weekend, and see you all later this week for some more post by me, until then I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.
