Summer of Concept Contributor: The Finale!

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Today marks the last week of  "Summer of Concept Contributor," and marks the 25th concept contributor post! This week contributor is a contributor that start it all, it was back in 2012, he is Steven G from SG-94. This link was the first concept contributor post featuring Steven. Now this time is Steve G send me a concept base on my favorite OHL team the London Knights.

Up Points: The stripes on both dark, and white are placed right. Love the addition of stripes at the end of the yoke on the white jersey. Nice call on the numbers and nameplate fonts. Lastly even thou I preferred the modern Knight logo, but the way the jersey was put together nicely to help the old school logo look good.
Down Point: The number fonts is a good choice but 1 trim around looks too plain to me.
My Suggestion: Add one more trim around the numbers, add green to the collar on the white jersey.

The aftermath rant!

Howdy, everyone! Had a good summer? No. Oh well, how about a rant from me? O.K. sound good with me because I have been saving this post until the end of my IceHL concepts posts, so let's not waste time and let get this rant going.

London Knights new white jersey!

The London Knights (OHL) showed off their new white jersey that is really "White!" Not like that dumb cream, vintage, or whatever darker shade of white they got. The jersey got that old Knights 3rd to feel to it which I like, and the wordmark on the front may not be a likeable thing to everyone's mind, but it'll grow on them just like me, only thing is it grew on me about 25 seconds after looking at it for the first time. In fact last week I went to a Knights pre-season game and got myself that white jersey! Now the only thing left is fixing their green jersey, and everything is back to normal.

Soo Greyhounds new set (Why?)

As you see the picture above you guess it, another Jr team is pulling the "NHL," the greyhounds home and road are like the Detroit Red Wings from top to bottom, and the 3rd is a joke. After seeing this, I had to take a breath and calm my nerves, if I didn't, I would e-mail HJC and demand a higher score on my Soo Greyhounds concept. That's how ticked off I was after seeing this so-called new set, it's just another spit in the face on a team that once had a beautiful and modern collection.

Quebec Ramparts new set.

  From OHL to the QMJHL, the Quebec Ramparts showed off their new set that replaced "vintage white" with "true white" I like that idea, the jerseys are classic and smart, the only thing I don't like is the NJ Devils number fonts, and that's all. Overall: Good move Ramparts, good move!

"America, F%#& NOOOO!"

In 2010 the USA team had a good set, now they got this.  The dark jersey is O.K. but lacks the hem stripe, the white is the same, but man it's terrible, what's up with the fake tie collars? The stars on yokes are alright but if they made them white would be good, the main crest is okay, but it's one of those that suited for 3rds only, and the two gold medals inside the collars are the closest thing that is good on this set. Overall if you're a jersey collector take my advice, "Wait for Discounts!"

Russia's new set.

Well, these set I can say is the one is good, and the other is *sigh* O.K. but should not use when you're the "Host" of the 2014 Winter Olympic. The white jersey is bizarre, but traditional, if they would add the flag stripes on the arms and the hem, then it'll be a kind jersey. The dark jersey is pretty much clean, friendly of them of putting the flag stripe on the arms if they put them flag stripes on the hem, and get rid of the fake tie collar and it'll be worth of the reasonable price.

New "Wild White Jersey!" (no pun)

The Wild change their road jersey, and it looks good! I'm not going to lie, but it's classy and nice, but still, I'm going to miss the old ones that made themselves who they are. Hopefully, this one will grow on me and might be my 2nd wild jersey for me to add to my jersey collection.

The wait is over in the wrong way.

For the past, almost 10 years in my mind I have beef with the Sabres uniforms some good but doesn't get so much love to mostly awful uniforms and logos changes that gave them a bad name, and this horrible picture of the what this called the "3rd" jersey. I like the idea of a yellow 3rd jersey, but this is bad! I can't explain it, I have no words to say it, all I can do is this picture tells of my reaction to this.

 Well, that's my rant fix, and yes I didn't rant about Team Canada's new set I know, but I'll save that when they complete it with the white jersey and if the so-called "Black" jersey is real or not. Also, I'm going to Windsor on September 29th for an AHL preseason game! And I thought to go to the London Knights games was awesome, this one takes the cake. As for some concepts put together I'm still on slow mode, I had some ideas in my mind but not kicking in yet, until last week I made some more concepts put together, hopefully, post them up on this site, including concepts I entered in the HJC Open, and sending them to HJC, and other concept sites.

London Knights Concepts (plus me blah blah rant)

Before we get to the concepts I going off the record and say I'm a Knights fan not a big Knights fan just a Knights fan, sadly I only watch the Knights games on TV and never went to their games, indeed a London Knights fan that only watch the games on TV instead of going to the Budweiser Gardens (formerly the John Labatt Centre). But however I do learn alot of history about the Knights very well from their early days as the London Nationals, to their very bad eggplant and teal stunt, to the current Hunter Bros era. But one thing that bothers me is that in 2002/03 season they got themselves all new look witch I like, the stripes on both the arms and hem fit the team so well and their main crest is awesome. Then came the change when not just the OHL but also the WHL, and the QMJHL change their uniforms to the Reebok edge system and when it comes to change some teams change from their jersey look, to the complete package change, that means not just the jerseys, but also the crests, and the colors too, the Knight's new look is O.K. and all but three things the bothers me big time. The 1st is their Main Crest is alright but compare to this Main Crest I felt a downgrade vibe going but that's my opinion, the 2nd is the colors, before the change, Now! I'm O.K. with Black and Dark Green, Beige a okay color could have use that color for Alternate Jersey only instead on both Home and Road, But Ochre that's where I draw the line right their, that color is a some what a bit darker color of Antique Gold, to me I felt like the Ochre it's some what a Orange(y) Gold color, I felt that they should keep the Antique Gold to my opinion. And finally the 3rd things that bothers the heck out of me, you see the team started the 2002-2003 season with Black as the main home color while the Kelly Green is Alternate, but when they use more Green in 2005 they won the OHL Championship witch lead to winning the Memorial Cup, 2012 same thing more Green, win the Title only different is they lost the Memorial Cup to Shawinigan. So in conclusion and I quote, "London Why U No Go And Stay Green?" Indeed I preferred the Knights using Green more then black, I made a London Knights concepts over a year ago and I believe I can top that and thus I believe I did.

On the Home and Road the Jerseys design is base on their 2002/03 to 2008/2009 Jerseys, I brought back the Knights old 2002/03 to 2008/2009 main crest and alternate logo because I find them more modern then their current one, made Dark Green as the teams main color follow by True Black, Antique Gold, and True White, and use Kroftsmann fonts on the nameplate, and numbers.
The Alternate Jersey I use the Knights current main crest recolored to Kelly Green, Antique Gold, Faint Black, and Beige, as old school colors, follow by Kroftsmann fonts on the nameplate while the numbers are standard block, and the jersey itself is pretty much classic modern.

And that's my new London Knights Concepts, hopefully I'll get the chance to send it soon as far as other concepts plan go, well I pretty much working on redesigning all of the OHL teams it's not a easy task but I will try, as for posting anything on this blogger well I'll take a little break this week and maybe next week, I got all of my Christmas shopping done it's the when I'm going to wrap them is another story. Also as you some resent Twitter post in titled "AJH HJA Classic Post" yeah I decide to tweet some of my old concepts all the to the last concept before I created my Twitter page. Until Then.

London Knights Concept

This is the London Knights Concepts I put together it was a nice mix between there old 2002/03 to 2008/2009 Alternate Jersey and the Calgary Flames Current Jersey did some tweaks on the arm stripes and here are my Concept well I send this to others Hockey Jersey Concept sites and well didn't get a lot of good feedback but mostly some people preferred  the Current Jerseys that the Knights are wearing right now, but however I do like this concept I proud of it mostly being the London Knights Fan!
