Edmonton Oilers Alternate Concept

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. I got a NHL concept today, an alternate concept, an alternate concept that was part of the HJC contest, a Edmonton Oilers alternate jersey concept! Let's get going shall we.

 I used the arm stripes base on my Boston Bruins concept, but with the stripes of the Oilers current set, then I spin it, and flip it to fit it nicely. I use the Dallas Stars yokes with trim around it. The shoulder patch came from the Oilers old alternate shoulder patch, but without the word mark above it. The main logo is the team's old alternate logo, well design logo if I say so myself.

Well today's post is in the books. There will be a post per week made by me most likely, as for concept contributor posts it'll be on hold until the Playoffs are over, witch means just like last year in summer with my IceHL concepts I'll be doing a weekly post of just concept contributors, mainly because I'm getting (not a lot, but) good numbers of concepts from contributors, so I decide what the hey put them together for this summer (in July) called "Summer of Contributors!" Chatham-Kent Roadrunners concept

Hello I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. On my April fool's day post I got an Roadrunners concept and said my hometown is getting an OHL team. Well it's just a April fool's joke, but it was good idea. I present to you all the concept that I made for not only for my April fool's day post, but also as part of the HJC's Roadrunners contest, the Chatham-Kent Roadrunners concept.

I use the same template as my Windsor Spitfires concept, but on my horizontal stripes there is 3 small stripes on it. The nameplate is the Winnipeg Jets fonts, and the numbers is the Anaheim Ducks font without the tip in the end. The shoulder patch was originally going to be the main logo but I chose to keep it as a shoulder patch. The main logo is base on a old minor-pro, yes I said it a minor-pro hockey team in my hometown called the "Chatham Wheels" this team came from a league called Colonial Hockey League witch later became United Hockey League, and then became the International Hockey League witch it close it's doors after 2009-2010 season. As for the Chatham Wheels that team didn't last long, after 2 seasons, even fresh off being in the finals the team moved Saginaw to keep the Wheels name for only 2 seasons until renamed themselves to the Lumber Kings, then the Gears, and then move to Ohio keeping the Gears name for only 1 season until the ownership were forced to dissolve and cease operations.

Hartford Wolf Pack Competition: The Results

Hi everyone, today I have the results for the Hartford Wolf Pack Competition, after much carefully reading and counting we have a winner. But first I would like to give my thanks to everyone who entered their concept to make it happen, to everyone who voted to made this happened, and lastly to Ryan of HJC for giving me the opportunity to host this contest. This contest have really gave me the experiences on how it feels like that you had to go through with every contests that you do and that was a reason why I giving you and other posters that work for you on HJC the respect in a whole new level. I will take this as the way of learning, and if I get another opportunity to host any future contests like this again, I will do whatever it takes to improve the contest. Friday: The Final Countdown

Hi everyone today is the last day to vote for the Hartford Wolf Pack Top 5. So far there are good numbers of top 5 votes so far, but we do need more votes. Just in case if you decide and/or not sure to vote let me help you out on the rules.

This is the Top 5, so that means you have to pick 5 concepts in your order to like.

If you're one of the contestant that got their concept in this contest you can put yourself in the top 5. "But" you "cannot" place yourself in 1st, you can place yourself in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th. Pretty much as same as any other HJC contest since these rules establish.

So hopefully you all got that and once you the top 5 vote set and ready to go, you send it to the HJC contest e-mail.

Next week I'll be doing my 1st round review and my round 2 picks, as for concepts I was thinking of holding it off at least maybe after round 3, but it'll be a lot sooner, mainly last night I just finish the last concept to complete my "OHL Redesign Quest" and boy how it wasn't easy but I did it and looking back at it, I felt good about it and proud of it too, so this June I will post nothing but the rest of my OHL concepts.

Thursday: My thoughts on Jersey Watch 2013

Hi everyone sorry I didn't do a Wednesday post because I was busy. Hopefully I'll make up for it today and Friday.

So far we got some Wolf Pack concept and still waiting for more if you're one of them that are taking time in putting together the concept for this contest that's good, just like to remind you all that you guys got until "This Friday at 11:59pm" to send your concept over to the HJC contest e-mail. On Wednesday over at Icethetics had posted this year "Jersey Watch 2013". It's a annual thing were reading news to rumors about NHL teams changing their looks from re branding their logos, to even Jerseys, so I'm going to give my quick thoughts on these so called news and rumors.

Buffalo Sabres new 3rd?

With their previous third jersey officially retired (Why they did that? I have no clue.) there is talks that a new 3rd is in the works, so far word is that it'll be blue and yellow and their current logo will be on it as well. Good luck trying to top your previous third jersey, because if you don't play your cards right it'll be bad news.

Calgary: Keep? or No Keep?

OK how can I say this problem, there's reports about that the Flames are thinking about dropping the teams retro third jersey in favoring a new one, while some are not so sure. Here's everyone including me asking this question "WHY?" this third jersey should or even better how about making them your main home jersey with matching road while you're doing that so that way you can easily put together a new 3rd with a snap of the finger.

Hurricanes new Home and Road? *gasp*

"Stand Back" the Hurricanes are going for a make over, oh so Reebok said that they're changing their look. I say get rid of the yoke lines and fix the arm stripes and you're good to go! What they had in the beginning was fine, just go back to that, end of story!

Dallas Changing

For the 3rd or 4th um who's counting how many times that the Dallas Stars said that they are going to change their look or adding a 3rd. I just gave up on it, if there going to be a change I'll just have to wait it out for now.

Wild Road to be revamped

Well looks like the road from the beginning is going to be officially retired witch is sad to me because it's fit the team so well and that goes for their old home too! Too bad that they're in favoring plain and boring look to their old ones that made them well you know "Wild" no pun attend.

The Habs changing?

"Oooo la la la" the Montreal Canadiens are going to change their look! Well that's not going to happen. I believe that the only thing they're going to change is putting lases on both Home and Road jersey and that's all so don't get all worked up about it.

Pens dropping the 3rd. *sigh*

I was hoping for news that the Pens are finally going to change their home and road jersey but no instead they are dropping their 3rd in favor of bringing in a new 3rd, maybe some what after the highly rumored "Stadium Series" that will happened in 2013-14 season *ugh* every time when there news about changes in Pittsburgh it's always the 3rds now the home and road set just the 3rd. "When are they going to change the home and road set?" The answer is unknown.

Sharks new home and road

Yes you read right, word is that the Sharks are going to change or modified the home and road jerseys. It's a good news to me because they need to change their look quickly because their current look is losing it's touch, hopefully they can get rid of their front numbers off their jersey. (Hopefully)

Detroit Red Wings Concept 3

Howdy everyone I present to you all my first concept made from my new computer and boy it wasn't easy mostly using the new MS Paint, to even setting some of HJC's new rules about sizing and stuff but I felt like I pull it off, for now It's going to be just straight Home and Road concepts while leaving the 3rds to ride solo until I can think about resizing my concepts witch is not a easy task for me mostly every time I resize it go pixely on me and I hate it, not a big fan of it, but sooner or later I'm going to end up doing it and might have to put up with it.

Now enough ranting let's get on with the concept.

This is another Detroit Red Wings concept made by me but this one is for the HJC's Untouchable Competition, same template as my Winnipeg Jets concepts, it kinda look pretty good with just Red and White.

My NHL Expansion concept Part 2: Quebec Voyageurs

Well today is another day and my 2nd part of my My NHL Expansion concept, today it's the Quebec Voyageurs.

My first draft

This one was a tough task, but pulled it off, this one was ready to go until I read some comments on the contest page that the "fleur de lis" is not allowed to be on the concepts witch brings to me my final draft.

 My official concept

 The changes I made is removing the "fleur de lis", change the color on the wrist cuffs, and change the trim colors on the arms and the hem on the road jersey and ta-da.

Well that's all for this week I really don't know if I got the time to post some more concepts next week, but I'm still working on some new concepts, so hopefully I'll get them done as soon as I can until then

My NHL Expansion concept Part 1: Seattle Totems

Now before I get to my concepts I would like to give a big thanks to Steven G. for helping  me on my Twitter tab for this blogger of my, so it's back and it's under the menu tabs for now I'm glad to have it up and running again, Thank you Steven G.

Now on to the concepts!

Hockey Jersey Concepts had a NHL Expansion Contest going on it's now at the voting phase to see witch concepts is the best suited for 2 NHL Expansion teams, the Seattle Totems, and the Quebec Voyageurs, today I'm show you all the Seattle Totems concepts 1 that I entered for the contest, the other pretty much my 1st draft, so here we go.

My 1st draft

As you can see I made teal as the main color follow by black and some small amount of red, made some tweaks on the jersey once worn by the Ottawa Senators only made the arm patterns straight, even thou I like it but I felt this is not a winner to my cup a tea so.

My official concept

After seeing some others work I decide to change the look, I drop the black color, made red as the main color follow by teal, indeed the socks on the road jersey did not look the same as the stripes on the arms, only on the hem but I was determined to get this concept done and thus I did.

Hartford Whalers Concepts

Hi everyone, now before we get on the concept on your left side of my blog it's a poll, after my "AHL Affiliate Fantasy Week" I decide to make a poll to see witch of my 5 concepts you want me to sent not just to HJC, but others concepts site as well, this one however is multiple vote that means you can vote more then one concept, the poll is open until the 21st of October.
Now on to the concept.

This concept I try to give it something simple yet the way I believe it would fit to the fans taste and keep it in Reebok standards, the design on the arms look like the Flyers old jerseys that look like one of those wave feel that I got that was too good to pass so I use that, add some trims on it made the colors Green, Blue, Light Silver, and Dark Silver, this concept took me a long time in a short week mainly jumping in between my job to house sitting my sister's place I just barely got my computer time in it, I got everything done there's more likely some errors on this concepts before I sent it to HJC as part of the Hartford Whalers redesign contest they got going on over there now it's voting week, when ever they pull the trigger for all of us to vote and I know back of my hand there are others concepts over there is really good so people get ready to vote for your favorite Hartford Whalers concept.

Two things became one, and the Quest for Redemption

Over 1 year ago there was a contest from Rick Gear that caught my eye on, but the problem is I got no idea on witch template to go with, but then I decide to make my very own by merging this template and this together with adding some few stuff in it of my own into the "Pew Pew Laser" concept and (to my opinion) the most underrated template I’ve ever made, sadly it didn’t become a winner but however this template would bring something big in the future, and thus it did around the time the Jets was official in ink as the Winnipeg’s new name I got on my computer and reopen the same template that I used for the Rick Gear contest as I gave some tweaks here and there, to comparing to the teams official color to my, but there’s one thing missing and that is a crest the Jets current crest was O.K. but I felt like the crest won’t fit the template to my taste, so I made a Jets crest around the same time the Jets crest was reviled, how the Logo was made you ask? Well let’s just say I went to the next logical thing for inspiration creative idea, check out my Transformers Collection! Mostly jets transformers from Jetfire, to Starscream (I got lots of Starscream figures LOL) just looking at one of them that could be the right shape for the Crest add a maple leaf and the letter “W” on it and “Ta-da” my Logo, the feedback on it from HJC was O.K. but nothing over the top, as months went by on September 6^th the Jets jerseys was reviled and I know from the top of my head I said to myself “this is not going to be easy!” so I decide to change the logo a little, O.K. alot! So I replaced the maple leaf and the “W” with the word “JETS” in front of the jet throw some tweaks here and there, and throw the new crest on to my template together and here it is my Winnipeg Jets concept. I did have very good feedback on the concepts from HJC, but it was against other concept that was better than my it was very tough to keep my head up high that I know “YES” you made a very good concept, and yes indeed someone else’s concept was the better one on that day. Well days ago I look through some of my old concepts that I made over a year, yeah it been over a year but its years to me the way time flies by, every time I look at my Jets concept that feel of defeat still hits me, yeah of course I admitted I’m still bitter about it, but the more I think about it, the more I want this concept to redeem itself witch I decided to “update” my Jets Concept! I gave my Jets jersey template some tweaks on it to make it something I like while keep it Reebok standards, but the only problem is the crest that right my logo, I made some color changes, I change the jet colors from silver and royal blue to silver and grey as for the word mark and decal on the jet I’m a little stuck on I can’t decide on witch one of the 3 colors to use as the main color on the crest while the 2 other colors will be for the decal on the jet I got here to see which one is the best to complete the Concept, the first the main color is Royal Blue, the second one Red, and the third is Navy Blue.
