2013 NHL Playoff Pickz: Round 3 review and the Stanley Cup Finals picks

Well this round got by quick, "Real quick!" Let's not waste time and review this sucker.

 Eastern Conference Finals
1. Pittsburgh vs. 4. Boston
My Pick: Pens beat the Bruins 4-2
The Result: Bruins sweep the Pens 4-0
I thought Bruins beating the day light out of the Rangers was one thing, but sweeping the 1st seed Penguins is a surprise for me.

 Western Conference
1. Chicago vs. 5. Los Angeles
My Pick: Blackhawks beat the Kings 4-3
The Result: Blackhawks beat the Kings 4-1
I was hoping for this series to go all the way to game 7 but that didn't happened, but I give the Kings credit for playing to the end.

And now it's set, the Stanley Cup Finals.
Chicago Blackhawks 2013 Presidents' Trophy winner, and beat the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion.
Boston Bruins came back from a 4-1 score and win it in game 7 overtime over the Leafs, and slayed the 1st seed Pittsburgh.
My Pick: Blackhawks beat the Bruins 4-2

Well that's my Playoffs Pickz 2013 Hope you all enjoy it, hopefully after the Finals I'll throw my rant on here soon til then later.

2013 NHL Playoff Pickz: Round 2 review and Round 3 Picks

Hi everyone, it's been a out of whack series when it comes to my picks, so here's my round 2 review.

Eastern Conference
1. Pittsburgh vs.  7.Ottawa
My Pick: Pens beat the Sens 4-2
The Result: Pens beat the Sens 4-1
I knew the Sens would run out of gas, but I didn't expect it to end in 5 games. We move on.

 4. Boston vs. 6. New York Rangers
My Pick: Bruins beat NYR 4-3
The Result: Bruins beat NYR 4-1
The Bruins move on to the conference finals, as for the Rangers well, they played really bad nuff said.

Western Conference
1. Chicago vs. 7. Detroit
My Pick: Blackhawks beat the Wings 4-1
The Result: Blackhawks beat the Wings 4-3
Those darn Wings gave me a heart attack but in the end the Hawks came back and win it.

5. Los Angeles vs. 6. San Jose
My Pick: Kings "LA King'd" the Sharks 4-2
The Result: Kings "LA King'd" the Sharks 4-3
The Kings did not win it in 6 games, but at least they beat them.

Well with that on to round 3.

 Eastern Conference Finals
1. Pittsburgh vs. 4. Boston
Pittsburgh: The Pens are back in the  Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2009.
Boston: For the 2nd time in 3 years the Bruins are in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Overall: After 21 years the Pens and the Bruins are going head to head to see who's going to the Stanley Cup Finals.
My Pick: Pens beat the Bruins 4-2

Western Conference Finals
 1. Chicago vs. 5. Los Angeles
Chicago: The Hawks made a come back in the 2nd round, but do they have some left in the tank?
LA: Kings seem to have problems with the Sharks, but made it through in a not a easy task.
Overall: Last year Stanley Cup Champion vs. Number 1 in the league who will win?
My Pick: Blackhawks beat the Kings 4-3

Well that's my round 2 review and my round 3 picks, until then later.

2013 NHL Playoff Pickz: Round 1 review and Round 2 Picks

Hi people round 1 is in the books, so here's my review on first round.

Eastern Conference

1. Pittsburgh vs. 8. NY Islanders
My Pick: Pens beat the Islanders 4-1
The Result: Pens beat the Islanders 4-2
I was close at getting it right but the Islanders have played good enough to make it last to 6 games.

 2. Montreal vs. 7.Ottawa
My Pick: Habs beat Ottawa 4-2
The Result: Sens beat the Habs 4-1
Yeah it wasn't a pretty series, the Habs had a good season but with some good key players coming back in the line up for the Sens from injures was too much in a bad way.

3. Washington vs. 6. New York Rangers
My Pick: NYR beats the Caps 4-3
The Result: NYR beats the Caps 4-3
This one I got right, but I would like to see some more heart from the Caps, but that didn't happen.

4. Boston vs. 5. Toronto
My Pick: Bruins beat the Leafs 4-3
The Result: Bruins beat the Leafs 4-3
For the moment there it would be the Leafs moving on but the Bruins came back and forced overtime and win it all.

Western Conference

1. Chicago vs. 8. Minnesota
My Pick:Blackhawks beat the Wild 4-0
The Result: Blackhawks beat the Wild 4-1
So much for the sweeper that I was hoping for, but I give the Wild credit for showing that they're no 8th seed team to be walk over and give a "wild" (no pun) series.

2. Anaheim vs. 7. Detroit
My Pick: Ducks beat the Wings 4-2
The Result: Wings beat the Ducks 4-3
Not pleased with this one, the Ducks had the Wings on the ropes but couldn't finish the job.

3. Vancouver vs. 6. San Jose
My Pick: Nucks beat the Sharks 4-2
The Results: Sharks sweep the Canucks 4-0
You can check out my last Wednesday rant. Nuff said.

4. St.Louis vs. 5. Los Angeles
My Pick: Blues beat the Kings 4-2
The Result: The Kings "L.A. King'd" the Blues 4-2
Note to self "Stop picking the team that will beat the Kings" man I tell you, picking one team over the other team that I don't think will and that team end up winning is on thing, but this is a bad habit I been going through, this is the 5th straight time that I picked the Kings to lose but they end up winning.

Now with that covered on to my round 2 pickz

Eastern Conference

1. Pittsburgh vs.  7.Ottawa
Pittsburgh: The Pens went through a rough 6 games with the Islanders but it look like it didn't do much damage to the team yet.
Ottawa: The Sens shock everyone including  me when they beat the Habs in 5.
Overall: These two teams have some good playoffs history with each other it'll be a good series that's for sure.
My Pick: Pens beat the Sens 4-2

4. Boston vs. 6. New York Rangers
Boston: This team was 10 minutes away from being eliminated from the Leafs, but bounce back and moving on to the 2nd round.
NYR: The Rangers came back from a 3 games to 2 behind the Caps and blew them away in game 7.
Overall: Another battle of the original 6, classic but one will win.
My Pick: Bruins beat NYR 4-3

Western Conference

1. Chicago vs. 7. Detroit
Chicago: Their game is just like I called it!
Detroit: The Wings do know how not to give up and play until the bitter end.
Overall: The Wings played their game right in the 1st round, but how much left in their tank?
My Pick: Blackhawks beat the Wings 4-1

5. Los Angeles vs. 6. San Jose
LA: They beat the Blues once again by playing smart and tough after losing the first 2 game of the series.
SJ: Shocked everyone even me when they sweep the Nucks in 4.
Overall: Battle of Cali will be a good match up, one will draw first blood, the other draws the first choke, who will it be?
My Pick: Kings "LA King'd" the Sharks 4-2

Well that's my picks hope to see you all in round number 3, until then later.

Wednesday: My rant on last night disaster for three teams

Hi everyone sorry for the lack of posting both Monday and Tuesday, mainly because of doing yard work and no idea what post about, but I do now!

But first.
The Wolf Pack Top 5 vote are due Friday May 10 11:59pm EST.

Well last night was a big disaster for both the Pens, the Habs, and most of all the Canucks.

The Pens really had a hard time with the Islanders and to tell you the truth I didn't expect the Islanders to play this series that good enough to give the Pens a run for their money. I mean the pens are good but the Islanders really up their game and show them that they aren't the 8th seed team to be walk all over. For now I believe this might be going all the way to 7 games, if the Islanders keep their game up.

The Habs made one of the best comeback after last year bad season and now they're on the verge of being eliminate by the Sens. I'm surprised that the Sens were so ready for this team. So we'll see if the Habs can bounce back or the Sens can close this series up.

The Canucks once had 1 win away from winning the Cup now looking back at it no matter how well they played in the seasons yet they played poorly in the playoffs, last year they got "LA Kinged" by the Kings in 5 games, now this year they got swiped by the Sharks in 4, witch brings me to one question "What now?" What the Canucks are going to do? All I can say is review everything, review the players, coaches, GM, everything to see that one (or dozen) flaw(s) in it and fix it so that way not only that they will be good in both seasons and playoffs so they can get where they were the Stanley Cup finals.

So that my rant on those 3 teams that I have to get it out off my head.
For now, Later.

2013 NHL Playoffs Pickz

Well after half a season was gone thanks to the lockout, all the NHL teams played 48 games, some played great while others did not, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs Begins.

And so without due let's the "2013 NHL Playoffs Pickz" begin.

Eastern Conference
1. Pittsburgh vs. 8. NY Islanders
Pittsburgh: The Pens have played well with their big 15 game winning streak they had in March that helped them rose to 1st.
NY Islanders: At last the Islanders are in the playoffs, but do they still got any left in their tank?
Overall: With some good trades here and there the Pens should win this round without trouble.
Pens beat the Islanders 4-1.

 2. Montreal vs. 7.Ottawa
Montreal: After last year disaster season the Habs made significant changes in the team from GMs, coaches, and as always the rosters. The team is back in the playoffs and hungry for Stanley Cup number 25.
Ottawa: This team went through a rough 48 games season with many key players out with injuries they seem to play their "A" game to keep themselves in the playoff pictures. But will be enough in the playoffs
Overall: The Habs have a good chance to win this round, but they need to watch out for their opponent trying to bounce back. (if they decide to.)
Habs beat Ottawa 4-2

3. Washington vs. 6. New York Rangers
Washington: With a "Big" late push, the Caps came from lost hope to 3rd place finish with the Southeast Division title for one last time (thank god), and Mr. Ovechkin is back on track, witch it's a good thing for this team.
NY Rangers: With some good playing their best, to some did start slow but picked up their game to give the team enough to be in this year playoffs.
Overall: Good teams, good players, and a good matchup, this will go all the way to 7 games. (I hope)
NYR beats the Caps 4-3

4. Boston vs. 5. Toronto
Boston: This team really surprised me. I mean sure I know they'll be in this year playoffs, but I didn't expect them to be in the top 4!
Toronto: For the first time since the 2004 playoffs, the Leafs are back, and I know myself, and other critics out there give this team a hard time over the years, and they got some excellent talents on their side, but most of them are in the Leafs farm club until this year was a shocker.
Overall: 2 originals battling each other in a classic bout but 1 will move on.
Bruins beat the Leafs 4-3.

Western Conference
1. Chicago vs. 8. Minnesota
Chicago: This team started a big streak at the beginning of this season, never looked back, and won the President Trophy for having the best record this year. Oh and also a heavily favourited to win the cup.
Minnesota: This season has been a wild one (no pun) for Minnesota a lot of ups and downs, mostly almost dethrone the Canucks from the top spot for the Northwest Division, but at least they made it to this year playoffs.
Overall: Last year an 8th seeded team beat a President Trophy winner. Not this year!
Blackhawks beat the Wild 4-0.

2. Anaheim vs. 7. Detroit
Anaheim: The Ducks are on top of their game. With two key players to the club signed new deals including some young player grew to full bloom and flying high.
Detroit: The Wings just barely made it 22 years in a row making it to the playoffs. But with their prime players gone to even some players slowly developing to their peak, this team future playoffs could be blank.
Overall: The Ducks got the advantage in this round, but the Wings will give them a hard time.
Ducks beat the Wings 4-2

3. Vancouver vs. 6. San Jose
Vancouver: The Canucks days of being number 1 of the west is no more but in a right way why? Because every time they're number 1 they played terribly, just take a look back at last year they got "LA King'd" by the Kings so this year could be their year! If they play their cards right, well maybe.
San Jose: Deep in the water, the Sharks has been playing wisely this season, not in the top 3 but enough to be in the playoffs.
Overall: The Canucks needs to play their game to the next level so that everyone (including me!) can still have faith in them being the top dog (or Whale whatever floats the boat) or else it'll be 2012 playoffs all over again.
Nucks beat the Sharks 4-2

4. St.Louis vs. 5. Los Angeles
St.Louis: The Blues had played well enough to placed in the 4th seed hopefully they keep the way they played this season through the playoffs.
LA: The Kings will start this playoff like last year an underdog, only different this time they're seeded 5th, not 8th, but that's a good thing, the players have played well this season. Hopefully, they keep it up.
Overall: The Blues got "LA King'd" last year in a 4-0 sweep fashion. This time they are ready for the Kings.
Blues beat the Kings 4-2

Well, that's my pickz I'll see you all on my next post for Round 2.
