2018 AJH HJA NHL Playoffs Pickz: Round 3 review, NHL Adidas concept extra, and the Stanley Cup pick.

Hello, hello everyone. Alan here for my last post of the 2018 NHL Playoff Pickz here at AJH HJA.

Round 3 review.

Western Conference

Vegas (P1) vs. Winnipeg (C2)

My pick: Vegas in 5 games

Result: Vegas in 5

My thought: Well I kinda had the feeling that the Jets ran out of fuel in this round.

Eastern Conference

Tampa Bay (A1) vs. Washington (M1)

My pick: Bolts in 6 games

Result: Caps in 7 games

My thought: The Lightning had one job in game six yet they choke it pretty bad.

Now it's time for my NHL Adidas concept extra. This one is a team that played bad enough to get themselves this year number 1 pick in the NHL Draft. It's the Buffalo Sabres.

This concept feature more white for both home, and road instead of gold. I felt like it didn't fit well with the Sabres at all. So I ended up making a better set for the Sabres.

Well, everyone, this Monday is game 1 of this year Stanley Cup finals. From the east making their first cup appearance since 1998, it's Washington Capitals. Over at the west, the team that is in their very first year, the Vegas Golden Knights. Who will win their first ever Stanley Cup?
My Pick: Even though Caps are hungry for the Cup, but with a team that features 2nd, and some 3rd line players earned their right spots on the team. This one is a tough call, I'm going with the Golden Knights in 6 games.

Well, that's it, we went through 3 rounds of crazy over the top matchups, lots of surprises, unexpected wins, and losses, to even bad calls from the refs. I hope you all enjoy this year playoffs, including hoping for a good Stanley Cup finals. Until then, later.

Hi all, Alan here for another 2018 NHL Playoff Pickz post here at AJH HJA. Let's get to the round 2 review.

Western Conference

Nashville (C1) vs. Winnipeg (C2)

My pick: Preds in 6 games

Result: Jets in 7 games
My thought: I expected the Jets ran out of fuel but instead it's the Preds that ran out of fuel.

Vegas (P1) vs. San Jose (P3)

My pick: Vegas in 6 games

Result: Vegas in 6 games
My thought: I rolled the dices and got this series right.

Eastern Conference

Tampa Bay (A1) vs. Boston (A2)

My pick: Bolts in 7 games

Result: Bolts in 5 games
My thought: Tampa was so good, they made the Bruins bit their tongues. Well just Brad.

Washington (M1) vs. Pittsburgh (M2)

My pick: Pens in 6 games

Result: Caps in 6 games
My thought: OK I didn't really thought that the Caps had a chance to beat the Pens, but they did it and they surprised me pretty good.

Now it's time for you guess it, another NHL Adidas concept extra. This time the Carolina Hurricanes.

I gave the the warning flag stripes the same treatment as what the team did with their current dark jersey. The dark jersey got more black on it but kinda miss the mark on the white jersey so this set didn't make the cut.

Now time for my round 3 picks.

Hello everyone, Alan here for another edition of the 2018 NHL Playoffs Pickz here at AJH HJA. I got round 2 picks, and another NHL Adidas concept extra. But first my round 1 review.

Western Conference

Nashville (C1) vs. Colorado (WC2)

My Pick: Preds in 4 games

The result: Preds in 6 games
My thought: I thought that this series was going to be a sweeper, but the Avalanche had other ideas.

Winnipeg (C2) vs. Minnesota (C3)

My Pick: Jets in 7 games

The result: Jets in 5 games
My thought: The Wild didn't play at all to make this series good, but good for the Jets to have their first playoffs series win in 31 years!

Vegas (P1) vs. LA (WC1)

My Pick: G-Knights in 6 games

The result: G-Knights in 4 games
My thought: I knew Vegas would beat the Kings but a sweeper? I did not see that coming!

Anaheim (P2) vs. San Jose (P3)

My Pick: Ducks in 6 games

The result: Sharks in 4 games
My thought: Sharks beat the Ducks? In 4 games? What is going on here?

Eastern Conference

My Pick: Bolts in 5 games

The result: Bolts in 5 games
My thought: Well got this one right!

Boston (A2) vs. Toronto (A3)

My Pick: Bruins in 6 games

The result: Bruins in 7 games
My thought: Toronto choked but didn't choked sooner.

Washington (M1) vs. Columbus (WC1)

My Pick: Caps in 7 games

The result: Caps in 6 games
My thought: This was a good series, sadly it only ended in 6 games.

Pittsburgh (M2) vs. Philadelphia (M3)

My Pick: Flyers in 7 games

The result: Pens in 6 games
My thought: Yeah I thought the Flyers got this series at hand, guess not.

Now this post's NHL Adidas concept extra is another team that didn't make it to this years playoffs is the Montreal Canadiens.

Remember the dark jersey from my Habs Adidas concept? Believe or not this one was originally suppose to be the dark (home) jersey! Made the chest, and arms stripes white with blue trims. The reason I didn't go with this one because I felt like it made the jersey too bright to my taste so I scrap this one and use the classic one.

2018 AJH HJA NHL Playoffs Pickz

Hello everyone, Alan here for this year edition of the NHL Playoffs Pickz! This year was a close race to the playoffs spots, in the end 16 teams have earn their spots in this year playoffs but only one will become the 2018 Stanley Cup Champions.

Before my picks I got some rant to talk about, here's my surprises, disappointment, and really? Let's get this going.

My Surprise
Vegas Golden Knights: Well this is a team that everyone including me thought that they were going to end up just like any other new team entering their first season in the NHL, rock bottom! Somehow, someway they kinda jell pretty well, so well that they are 1st place in the Pacific division, this is a shocker to everyone nobody didn't expect them be this good, here's hope that this team can thrive in the desert area far better then what the Arizona Coyotes can do.

Chicago Blackhawks: The last time this team missed the playoffs was in 2007-08 season, so after 10 years winning three Stanley Cups they have missed this year playoffs. I wonder what's next for this team, will they bounce back next season, or will they tank?

My Disappointment
Edmonton Oilers: They came from being eliminated in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Playoffs, to missing this year playoffs. Well back to the drawing board this team again.

Montreal Canadiens: I got nothing to say a lot about this one, just they played bad.

My "Really?"
Ottawa Senators: So many dramas on this one that I don't know what to start it's too much mostly putting your top star through everything along with losing his son. Really Ottawa?

St.Louis Blues: You guys just can't make your minds up, you want to go to playoffs then win games, if not just tank for crying out load. Really Blues?

Now as I said from my previous posts I now will show you all my NHL Adidas concept series extra! This one is the team that will not go to the playoffs this year is the Edmonton Oilers.

The jersey design was classic but I felt it need a modern touch. The fonts I want to use was the Oilers old alternate jersey from 2001-07, but it kinda was too modern to my taste.

Alright everyone it's time for my pickz! I going to make this short and sweet, so here we go.
